First Chapter Friday: The Firekeeper’s Daughter

Have a listen as Rebeka reads the first chapter of the Michael Printz award winning novel, The Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley.  The novel is a young adult mystery/thriller book set in the town of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan near the Ojibwe reservation.  Main character, Daunis Fontaine, is a biracial, unenrolled tribal member and the product of a scandal.  The story centers around her undercover involvement in a murder investigation after she witnesses the shocking murder of her best friend.
